Haircut

From the backcover

John hated everything about haircuts. He hated having them. He always delayed them as much as possible. He hated giving them. So much so that he actually never gave one in his life. He hated the sound of the scissors. He hated the sound of the razor. He hated wearing that towel that squeezed in neck. He hated the feeling the burning air from the hairdryer. He hated the time it all took. He hated the waiting time. He hated being seated in that swivelling chair. And what he hated most was having to talk with a hairdresser.
Especially Gloria. Gloria was the worst. She the only one present in the salon today. Just when he could not delay that haircut anymore.
